Yes. Ovée is a moisturiser (emollient), not a medicine, and is safe to use alongside any prescribed topical treatment your GP or dermatologist has recommended. As a general rule, apply the prescribed cream first to the affected areas, wait 20–30 minutes, then apply Ovée over the whole area — Dr Tim explains the timing in his guide to using moisturiser alongside steroid cream. It was developed by Dr Tim Clayton, Consultant Paediatric Dermatologist at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. If your child already has a prescribed emollient that works, keep using it — Ovée can be used alongside it. For dry or eczema-prone skin, at least twice a day, and more often during a flare-up. Apply in a smooth downward motion in the direction of hair growth rather than rubbing it in.

Keep moisturising even once the skin looks settled — stopping removes the one thing actively helping the barrier stay repaired.

Skin doesn't change overnight — the outer layer renews itself roughly every 28 to 30 days.
